Peace & Justice Scotland, originally named as a Resource Centre, grew from that start in 1980, to have National status. Geoffrey Carnall, (who used to describe himself as its ‘midwife’ ) supported by his wife Elisabeth Seale Carnall, set up one of the best-loved peace institutions in Scotland, delivering projects to promote non-violence, human rights, conflict resolution, disarmament and ecological sustainability. As a catalyst for action and learning, it is still bringing activists and academics into a shared space and bringing the isolated and the compassionate together, through delivering projects and events to build a culture of peace. Since 2022, when Secure Scotland opened Words And Actions 4Peace (WandA for short) , P&J has been based WandA) 58 Ratcliffe Terrace EH91ST where like-minded groups and individuals can meet, share resources, watch films or host events. New enquiries are welcome and people who can help put you in touch with others in a friendly way.
WandA aims to be open from 10 – 5.00 during the week, (it is run entirely by volunteers) and in the evenings at the weekend for special events. It is at 58 Ratcliffe Terrace, Edinburgh EH9 1STb and the phone number is 07949479977. All Welcome, including accompanied children and dogs as long as they are friendly!
